Frequently Asked Questions
Answered before
you ask.
Santara partners with businesses that want to deliver more value to their customers. Together, we extend protection seamlessly into the journeys your clients already take.
What does Santara travel insurance cover?
Santara plans cover medical emergencies and hospitalisation, trip cancellations and interruptions, flight delays, lost or delayed baggage, and travel disruptions. Enhanced plans also cover pre-existing medical conditions. Full details are in your policy document.
How does cashless hospitalisation work?
If you need hospital treatment abroad, call our 24/7 assistance line before or on admission. We identify a
network hospital near you, confirm your coverage directly with them, and settle the bill on your behalf.
You pay nothing upfront.
Can I get coverage if I have a pre-existing medical condition?
Yes. Santara offers enhanced plans specifically designed for travellers with pre-existing conditions.
Coverage terms depend on the condition and plan selected. Speak to our team to understand what
applies to your situation.
How do I make a claim?
Claims can be submitted digitally through our portal or app — no physical paperwork required. Upload
your documents, and a dedicated claims manager will be assigned to your case. Most claims are resolved
within 7 working days.
Can I buy coverage after I have already departed?
Single trip plans must be purchased before departure. If you are already travelling and need to extend or
upgrade your coverage, contact our team directly — we will advise on the best available option.
What is the difference between Single Trip and Annual Multi-Trip plans?
A Single Trip plan covers one journey from departure to return. An Annual Multi-Trip plan covers all trips
you take within a 12-month period, with no limit on the number of trips. If you travel more than three or
four times a year, the annual plan is typically more cost-effective.
Is my family covered under one plan?
Yes. Santara offers Family Plans that cover all family members under a single policy, available as single
trip or annual options. This includes cover for children travelling with parents as well as students
studying abroad.
How do I access the second medical opinion service?
Call our 24/7 assistance line or contact your dedicated case manager. We will connect you with a
specialist in Singapore, Malaysia, or another leading medical hub based on your condition and
requirements.
